Spray collaborates with New Leaf Venture Partners (formerly The Sprout Group) to form Tremont Medical.
Tremont Medical is a seed company formed in collaboration with Dr. John Liddicoat, a cardiac surgeon at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston.

Spray forms Kolis Scientific to develop therapies for unmet clinical needs in ophthalmology.
Kolis is developing novel, device-based therapies to treat a common ophthalmic condition. The company will be based in Raleigh, North Carolina and Tim Willis has joined the company as CEO.

Working in conjunction with the surgeon/inventor, Dr. Aaron Kaplan, Anvil Medical is focused on an application that represents a potential $1 billion market.

Spray Venture Partners Closes its Second Fund
Capitalized at $72 million, Spray’s strategy will continue to focus on early-stage, medical device companies developing therapies for unmet clinical needs. According to General Partner, Kevin Connors, “Similar to Spray’s first fund, SVP II will dedicate itself to a mix of early stage investing–from company formation to more traditional Series A investing. Our philosophy is to partner closely with entrepreneurs to accomplish significant, value-building milestones that ultimately demonstrate the safety and efficacy of novel therapies.”

Geoff Pardo Joins Spray Venture Partners
Geoff comes to Spray Venture Partners from Cardinal Partners where he led their investing activity in the medical device sector. During his tenure with Cardinal, he was responsible for sourcing and managing investments in Replication Medical and CardioOptics.

Geoff has over 8 years of operating and venture experience. He started his career with Arthur D. Little working primarily with companies in Latin America on issues of privatization, operations planning, and strategy development. He subsequently joined Synthes USA, a leading orthopedics company, as a product manager and led the market introduction of Norian bone graft substitute which was named Synthes’ impact product of the year in 1999.

Geoff, a fluent speaker of Spanish, has a B.A. with honors in History from Brown University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business.
