Facet Solutions is developing a system of implants and instrumentation to allow a spine surgeon to perform facet joint arthroplasty, or replacement of the facet joints. The facets form the posterior portion of the spine, and support a meaningful portion of the load carried by the spine. Facet was spun out of Medicine Lodge, a Utah-based orthopedics company. Highgate is a company that was formed by Spray to commercialize second-generation approaches to spinal fixation and artificial disk placement that minimize damage to healthy bone, offer better healing, and are minimally invasive. Intrinsic Orthopedics, Inc. is a formation stage company focused on the development of novel less invasive technology to repair the spine.
